Here are the Evansville-area officials who spoke against CenterPoint's proposed rate hike
Dear Voters,
Serving on the Vanderburgh County Council for the last 20 years has been my honor. In early February I was selected to fill the vacant County Commissioner seat. Now I have entered the race to seek election as County Commissioner.
Working to provide the essential services the taxpayers of Vanderburgh County need and deserve, in a fiscally responsible manner, has always been and will continue to be my top priority. As a proven leader, I pledge to work with local and state officials, regardless of political party, to address fundamental quality of life issues that are important to all of us.
Commissioner Issues include:
-
Keep Vanderburgh County safe for people to live, work and play with strong support for local law enforcement.
-
Long term economic growth plans to develop quality and quantity of good jobs and businesses for our residents.
-
Maintenance of our roads, bridges and infrastructure to retain safety and efficiency.
-
Continue my lifelong commitment to the youth of our community.
-
Continue improvements at Burdette Park, our County’s most prized natural attraction.
As your County Councilman, I worked with fellow County Councilors and Commissioners to fund necessary services and programs for Vanderburgh County while maintaining a balanced budget.
Some of the valuable, long-term improvements include:
-
High-speed fiber optic broadband throughout the entire County.
-
Increased funding to pave more miles of roads and repair bridges.
-
Increased funding for the Sheriff and Corrections Departments to attract and retain qualified law enforcement personnel.
-
Dedicated American Rescue Plan Funds for many important projects as well as supporting many non-profit organizations.
-
Approved funding to refurbish and renovate the County Courts.
-
Established funding for the state-mandated expansion of the County jail as well as a new Coroner’s Office.
-
Supported many quality improvements at Burdette Park.
